In feite is geel het eigenlijke kleur van ferrari. Het kleur geel verwijst naar Modena waar het allemaal begon. Het rood daarintegen was het nationale racekleur van Italie. in die tijd werden alle grote landen een racekleur toegediend: Frankrijk blauw/ Duitsland Grijs/ UK Groen en Italie rood.
